Yield: 6 cups
Cinnamon cream cheese frosting is an easy homemade frosting recipe that is perfect for fall baking. The frosting is sweet, tangy, and has delicious vanilla and cinnamon flavor. This is the best cream cheese frosting for fall desserts.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (454 g) unsalted butter room temperature
  • 8 oz (227 g) cream cheese room temperature
  • 7 cups (840 g) powdered sugar
  • 3 tsp (3 tsp) vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp (2 tsp) ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp (1 tsp) salt

Instructions

  • In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment or in a large mixing bowl with an electric hand mixer, whip the unsalted butter and cream cheese for 5 minutes until it is light, pale, and creamy.
  • Add in half of the powdered sugar and mix on low speed until combined. Add the remaining half of the powdered sugar and mix on low speed until well combined. Add the vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Mix on low speed until the ingredients are fully combined.
  • Increase the speed on the mixer to medium and whip the frosting for about 3 to 5 minutes until it is smooth and creamy. Turn the mixer to low speed and mix the frosting for several minutes to remove any air bubbles.

Notes

  • Store the frosting in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2 week or in the freezer for 3 months.
  • To use, bring the frosting to room temperature and rewhip for several minutes until it is smooth and creamy.
