These Oreo chocolate chip cookies are the perfect chewy cookie recipe for Oreo cookie fanatics. The cookies are soft, chewy and packed with melty semi-sweet chocolate chips and Oreo cookies crumbs and chunks.
Oreo Chocolate Chip Cookies
If classic chocolate chip cookies and Oreo cookies had a baby, it would be these cookies! If you are an Oreo lover, this is the cookie for you!
The cookies have a chewy center with crispy edges, which to me is the perfect cookie texture. The cookie dough is packed with chocolate chips, Oreo cookie crumbs and chunks of Oreo cookies.
This recipe is incredibly easy to make, which is good because you will want to make it over and over again!

How to Make Oreo Chocolate Chip Cookies
Here is the basic breakdown on how to make these cookies:
- In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment or a large bowl with an electric hand mixer, cream together the unsalted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Add in the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract.
- Add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix on low speed until a soft cookie dough forms. Scrape the sides of the bowl to ensure everything is well mixed. Add in the Oreo cookie crumbs and mix well.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and Oreo cookie pieces.
- Portion the cookie dough using a large cookie scoop (3 tablespoons). Chill the cookie dough balls in the fridge for 1 hour.
- While the cookie dough is chilling, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line baking sheet pans with silicone baking mats or parchment paper.
- Place the cookie dough balls onto the prepared baking pans, allowing space for spreading.
- Bake the cookies for about 14 minutes until the edges are golden-brown and the centers are slightly underdone. Allow the cookies to cool on the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Cookie Recipe Tips
- Use a small food processor to make the Oreo cookie crumbs. No need to remove the cream filling.
- Don’t skip on chilling the cookie dough. Chilling the dough controls how much the cookies spread and creates the perfect chewy texture.
- After removing the cookies from the oven, immediately press additional chocolate chips or Oreo cookie pieces into the top of the cookies.
- Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for about 3 days.
