Oreo Rice Krispie Treats

If homemade rice krispie treats are your jam, just wait until you throw Oreos into the mix to create the best Oreo rice krispie treats! Iโ€™m talking crispy, gooey, Oreo goodness in every bite, with that perfect cookies and cream vibe that hits all the nostalgic notes. When two beloved desserts combine, you know itโ€™s going to be good!

Say hello to the treat thatโ€™s so rad, even the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man would trade in his giant marshmallow gig for a bite. These Oreo rice krispie treats are the sweet duo we will always cheer for, just like Baby and Johnny. Ooey, gooey, and chewy, brace yourself for the ultimate no bake nostalgic mashup!

What makes these treats totally the best ever? They are jam-packed with Oreo crumbs and chopped Oreo cookies from top to bottom. The marshmallow to rice krispie cereal ratio is tighter than Hall and Oates harmonies. The best part is, they come together faster than a DeLorean hitting 88! So grab some Oreos and letโ€™s make your dessert dreams come true!

Courtney’s Expert Baking Tips

  • Line the baking pan with parchment paper extending up the sides of the pan for easy removal.
  • Use a food processor to create the Oreo cookie crumbs. You could also crush the Oreos with a heavy object in a resealable storage bag.
  • Gently press the rice krispie treat mixture into the pan. Do not press down too firmly or the rice krispie treats will have a hard texture.
  • The easiest way to spread the rice krispie treat mixture is to use your hands. Wet your hands with a little bit of water to prevent the mixture from sticking.
  • Use a serrated knife and a sawing motion to cut the treats into perfect squares.

Can I use different kinds of Oreo cookies?

Absolutely! Substitute classic Oreos for golden Oreos, peanut butter Oreos, mint Oreos, or your favorite Oreo flavor.

Can I use a 9-inch square pan?

Yes, you can. The rice krispie treats will be very thick, but the mixture will fit into a 9×9 square pan.

How can I prevent the mixture from sticking to my hands?

The easiest way to prevent the rice krispie treat mixture from sticking to your hands is to moisten your hands with water before pressing the mixture into the pan.

Notes

Storing & Serving:

  • Refrigerator/Freezer: I do not recommend storing rice krispie treats in the refrigerator or freezer as it can impact the texture.
